What does it mean to hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification?

The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification is a professional certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. A CFP® practitioner is required to adhere to rigorous professional standards, including a Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, that affirm they will always act in the best interest of the client when providing financial advice. CFP® practitioners must complete a comprehensive financial planning curriculum and pass an exam. Once certified, they are required to complete continuing education coursework to ensure their competence. Barry Rucks, Matthew Silverhardt, and Nicholas Porretta each hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
